What Is LENS

LENS training was developed in the 1990s and strives to help the nervous system balance itself, according to Stone Mountain Counseling. This particular type of neurofeedback training does not attack a specific illness or symptom. An electroencephalogram is used to connect the brain to a neurofeedback resource. Traditional neurofeedback methods use predetermined frequencies, but the LENS method adapts to the frequency that is most appealing to the brain. This allows the LENS method to be personalized to the individual receiving the treatment.

The patient relaxes comfortably in a chair, eyes closed, engaged in no specific task. No needles, shocks, skin penetration or other invasive procedures are used. The sensor wire simply rests on the head. They are connected to the EEG, which is then connected to the computer for analysis. The process is well tolerated, very comfortable and relaxing.
